O gnarled and ancient olive tree Holy Land Olive Trees Were you a witness of my Savior's grief, And did those boughs, Outreaching, Give him shelter there As though they understood - As though they would have hid from eyes that stare The awful anguish of His prayer ?
I wonder , - Did those thirsty roots drink of the sweat that dripped from Him like blood ? Did every twig and ash-grey leaf and swelling bud and ripening fruit and sturdy trunk and coat of bark the very wood - feel with intensity The sorrow of Jesus the Prince of Peace? The olive tree that Jesus prayed under in his way to Jerusalem before his crucifixion is still living and bearing fruits till this day and it is now a tourist attraction where Christians of all domination who come to the Holy Land visit and pray under. And I pray that Christ will be more in your hearts as you trust in him. May your roots go down deep into the soil (Ephesians 3:17)
