The olive wood crosses pictured below are all made from Bethlehem olive wood. Notice the difference in color and pattern in them. No 2 crosses will be alike due to the different in the grain pattern and color of the wood.

You can estimate the age of a particular piece by examining its grain. Very old trees have a dark grain while younger trees exhibit a lighter color.
